artist Chris Cornell
album title Carry On
release date
28th May 2007
language English
genre alternative rock
rating 3.5/5

I like his voice, really. But this album just doesn’t strike me. Maybe it’s the poor audio quality of my laptop, but I’m lazy to switch to speakers. I loved audioslave. It was great, but this album is just different I suppose. I like the billie jean on this album though, much better than the -original-, lol I’m not much of a MJ fan. This album is good, just cos’ his voice is awesome. Favourite tracks: Disappearing Act, Safe and Sound (as much as people don’t like it.)

Left my iTunes on shuffle so I’d hear sngs I’ve never heard before / listen to songs I haven’t heard in ages.

artist Trespassers William
album title Different Stars
release date
uh released three times.
language English
genre dream pop
rating 5/5

First song I heard from them was Different Stars, so I’m commenting on this album, instead of their other 2 (i think) albums. I like their style, alot. Don’t know if there’s a dream pop genre, but they sure sound dreamy-ish. Something like Enya type of floaty but heavier. The singer (Anna-Lynne Williams) has a voice that’s -really- suitable for this kind. Her voice is so clear and distinct and beautiful in Fragment. Listening to the album kinda makes me melancholic. Especially when the sky’s grey right now. Lovely music to emo to. (: Not that I’m emoing. Haha. Favourite tracks: Untitled, Love You More, Just Like This, Fragment, Lie In The Sound, Different Stars, Alone, Anchor, Vapour Trail, Let You Down, Flicker. Those are all the songs, btw.

artist Train
album title For Me, It’s You
release date
31st January 2006
language English
genre rock
rating 3.5/5

Similar to the other albums. Pretty good, but I don’t find any specific songs exceptionally fantastic. Don’t really know, cos’ it always takes me a few listens to really like their songs. And after that I’ll -really- fall in love with their songs. I like their My Private Nation album best. More than Drops of Jupiter. Ah well. Favourite tracks: Give Myself To You, All I Hear.

artist Rosie Thomas
album title If Songs Could Be Held
release date
13th September 2005
language English
genre alt rock?
rating 4.5/5

AHH how can I forget Rosie Thomas! Haha. I -love- her songs. Especially for grey days like this. Favourite weather plus favourite songs. Ah. It’s so soothing, different from pop music, which I like also haha. Favourite tracks: Loose Ends, Let It Be Me, It Don’t Matter To The Sun

Haha, and I think The Darkness is pretty good. The guy’s falsetto is better than Mika.

I really like studying but this time I just can’t concentrate. So, I’ve decided to do a post. =D Was scrolling through my music when I found these.

artist 迷路兵
album title 迷路兵
release date
9th July 2007
language Chinese
genre pop/rock
rating 3.5/5

Oh, the first song I heard was 勇氣, which is a cover of Fish’s song!! I really adore this song (the original) cos’ it’s so lovely. The beginning part was alright, since they started with piano and I’m a sucker for piano introductions. But later on nearer to the end they made it a little too heavy imo. I like their ballads though, but it’s just me. =D I can’t take.. chinese rock. Not bad not bad, since they’re still kids after all. Heehee. Favourite tracks: 适應, 天使眷戀, 我為什麼還愛你

artist The Morning Light
album title The Sounds of Love EP
release date
9th June 2007
language English
genre pop/rock
rating 5/5

EPs (extended play) are CDs which are longer than singles but too short to be considered albums. IMO, some EPs are so gorgeous they deserve more to be albums than some trash out there. But it’s just my opinion =p I love this EP! One of my favouritest ever. They were unsigned the last time I checked, which is sad cos’ obviously they deserve much better. (And people all around deserve to listen to them too!!) You’re not mine is my favouritest track from it, which is surprisingly the most rock one from the EP. (Apparently.) Favourite tracks: all. There’re only 6 ):

artist Sawajiri Erika
album title Free (single)
release date
4th July 2007
language Japanese
genre rock
rating 4/5

My favourite song is Free! I think Jap rock is much better than Chinese rock haha, some how. I’m not prejudiced!! Hopefully anyway. Don’t know much about Jap music since I don’t really listen.. But this is not bad. Plus, she’s gorgeous. (: Out of the 3 songs I just don’t like Fantasy. I guess that’s cos’ I don’t like trance/electronic sounding stuff.

Haha. I just decided to open this blog again. Perhaps for the future self to remember the kind of music I used to listen. Weather outside is LOVE. Rainy days always make me happy. Sunny days begone!

artist Avril Lavigne
album title The Best Damn Thing
release date
17th April 2007
language English
genre pop/rock
rating 4/5

I like Avril, no matter what people say about her act-punk appearance or anything. She’s talented. Favourite tracks (in order from favouritest! =D) : When You’re Gone, Runaway, I Don’t Have To Try. Typically pop-ish =D I’m still a tween at heart hohoho. But WhenYou’re Gone is really nice. Rawr. Just like Nobody’s Home is damn nice.

artist Anna Nalick
album title Wreck Of The Day
release date
19th April 2005
language English
genre pop (?)
rating 4.5/5

I’ve no idea what genre this is. But I like it, alot!! The lyrics are so contagious, and I think I fell more for the lyrics than her singing. But the music is good too, and she carries the songs well… maybe because she meant them? In My Head has interesting lyrics, but most of her songs do (: ESPECIALLY good listening for rainy days like these. Favourite tracks: Citadel, Paper Bag, Consider This.

language Cantonese
genre pop/ballad

Gosh, I adore this soundtrack. One of my favouritest soundtracks. Ever. Seriously. I love 6 out of the 12 songs in it. 無雙譜, 羅曼蒂克, 情歌, 決戰二世祖, Kong, and 句句我愛你. They are wonderful! Haha. Maybe I’m biased cos’ it’s in Cantonese. But, oh well. Not all cantopop appeal to me though.
